Quality Manager – Chemical Engineer or Chemist with Manufacturing(Six Sigma / Kaizen / Lean) Experience

Our client is a global leader in the CASE market (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers). They are a $2 billion+ company with a major manufacturing facility near Dallas, TX.

The situation:  This plant manufactures a highly technical resin via batch processes for a broad range of demanding industrial, building and transportation applications.

• Maintaining batch-to-batch quality is critical to customer satisfaction.
• Additionally, in today’s economic environment, continuous improvement, increasing efficiencies and looking for new ways to manufacture products is paramount
• Color matching to customer specifications is of utmost importance

 They are looking to bring on board a Quality Manager to take this plant to the next level. 

The Opportunity:

• 3 plants have been consolidated into this 1 facility thus, this is now, more so than ever before, a key facility for our client
• They are looking for future leaders for the organization so the person in this role will have the opportunity to develop and communicate best practices throughout the organization and be considered for higher level positions over time
• They need you to:
• Review and upgrade all ISO procedures
• Ensure lab procedures, quality testing, methods and instrumentation are state-of-the art
• Review and upgrade manufacturing processes to ensure batch consistency, minimize rework and scrap and cost optimization
• Use Six Sigma, Kaizen and/or Lean Manufacturing concepts to ensure this is a flagship facility and that customers will be satisfied with the products manufactured at this location
• Base of $75K to $90K + Strong RELO package (In addition to movement of household goods and temporary living, they will cover real estate agent fees and closing costs)

 Requirements for Consideration:·    

• BS Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or other related field.
• Experience in the manufacturing of:
• Polyester resin
• Vinyl ester
• Gel coat
• Other composite resins
• 5 – 15 years technical and manufacturing / operations experience·        
• Strong QA/QC background.
• Experienced in ISO Quality Management Systems, Kaizen and/or Six Sigma preferred (Black Belt / Green Belt)
