Sales & Market Development Manager

Our client is a global leader in the paint and coatings industry. They are looking for a Sales & Market Development Manager for the Mid West. Locations are any major city such as: 

  • Minneapolis
  • Chicago
  • Indianapolis
  • Cincinnati.

The Industrial Group has a variety of paint & coating products and services for:
 

  • Appliances
  • Trucks
  • Tractors
  • Recreational vehicles, etc. 

The person in this position has been promoted and they are looking for his replacement.  

So what are they looking for in the person to fill this role and what is the opportunity for you? 

  • In this highly visible highly valuable role you will learn and focus on one specific highly specialized technical application
  • The company and team will be looking to you to become the company “expert”, both internally and externally 
  •  You will lead the commercial development efforts
  • Pioneer, lead and guide the marketing efforts
  • Represent the company at trade shows & industry events
  • Through learning your customers and their needs, help guide the appropriate R&D efforts to advance the technology and develop innovative value added customer solutions 

So what is this technology? If you have the following qualifications, contact us and we can review it together. We think you will be impressed. 

  • First, this is a developmental position. So they are only going to look at someone with approximately 4 to 12 years of experience. Any more experience than that and the fit won’t be right professionally. (In other words, higher level positions would be the right fit.)
  • BS in any science or engineering field preferably:
    • Chemistry
    • Chemical engineering
    • Mechanical engineering
  • A proven track record of dealing with highly technical industrial process solutions. What does this mean? Since this is a technical sale, sales/business development or application engineering experience in areas such as:
    • High pressure boiler chemical sales
    • Paper process chemicals
    • Powder coatings
    • E-coat (electrocoat)
    • Refining process chemicals
    • Industrial pretreatment applications
    • Other industrial process chemical, specialty type applications
  • Be able to provide at least 3 references
  • Have a proven track record of accomplishments and achievements
  • Willingness to invest in yourself and your future by learning this technology and becoming the company expert

 Success in this role will position you for future leadership roles (note again that the person who WAS in the role just got promoted) 

Since business development is a major part of this role, there will be 50-75% travel throughout the mid west (with an occasional jaunt to other parts of the country) 

In addition to the solid base pay, there is a 25% performance bonus.
